Come celebrate The Second Annual “Legacy Trees Project” Fundraiser Party on June 13th from 6:00pm – 9:30pm upstairs in the open courtyard at 1801 L Street in Sacramento during June’s Second Saturday Artwalk. This Event is free to the Public.

The Legacy Trees Project—sponsored by the non-profit Sacramento Education Events for Art (SEEART)— works with the city of Sacramento and private citizens to voluntarily obtain dangerous, diseased and dying trees felled by the city and property owners for use by local artists and craftspeople. Legacy Trees are trees that are 100-years-old or older, located in a signifi cant setting and/or have a noteworthy place in the heart of Sacramentens for their beauty, longevity and meaning to the community.

Both fine and functional art created from these Legacy Trees (such as sculpture and two-dimensional pieces) will be featured along with live music, food and a silent auction. A Grand Raffle with Original Art valued at $2,500 will be featured—the Grand Prize is a Legacy Trees sculpture by local artist Jaime Acosta. Tickets are $20 each. (Acosta’s sculptures can be seen from now until June 12th in the front window of Art Ellis located at 2508 J Street in Sacramento.)

Other featured artists for the evening include Adam Bradley, James L. Cooper and Judith Monroe. Monroe—a mixed media/photograph/painter—will feature her limited-edition portfolio containing handtinted photography of trees from all over northern California. Only 10 will be available for $125 each. This event is sponsored by Art Ellis and the Community and is free and open to the public.
